# Rule modal

This modal is shown whenever a logged in customer clicks on a rule item, either within the [Loyalty Page](/sdk/embeddable-components/loyalty-page/) or in the [standalone rules list](/sdk/embeddable-components/rules-list/).

Depending on the rule, the modal may be informative or fully interactive. For example:

* the Birthday rule modal contains a form in which the customer can enter their birthday
* the custom rule modal contains information about how to earn points
